MSISS will appeal to students who like problem solving and applying quantitative methods and information technology to business and other organisational problems. It is particularly suited to those who would like to pursue careers in management consultancy, financial services and business use of information technology. If you are interested in a career in business, and are numerate and interested in computers, MSISS is a good way of keeping your options open.
There is an interesting mix of students currently studying the course with mature and conventional students from all over the country and abroad, and approximately a fifty-fifty breakdown of male-female students. The interests and talents of these students are wide and varied, with some students more interested in the computer aspect of the course, others the mathematics aspect and many mainly interested in the business section. Outside of the academic side of things, MSISS students have a broad range of interests. A substantial number are very sporty and many others have a keen interest in the vast number of societies in Trinity. The typical MSISS student is very difficult to classify!
